- All oxygen equipment should be 5-10 feet away from any open flame, including woodstoves, gas stoves, candles or fireplaces.
- Oxygen signs must be posted by the client.
- Absolutely NO SMOKING.
- Ensure your concentrator has proper ventilation.
- Do not use electric blankets while using oxygen.
- Do not use electric razors while using oxygen.
- Do not use petroleum based products on or near the equipment.
- Do not use petroleum based products on your skin, please use water based products only.
- Secure oxygen cylinders to ensure that they are not accidently knocked over.
- Do not attempt to make adjustments or repairs to the equipment- call Lakeland Respiratory at 780-632-7611 or 1-800-668-5359 if equipment is not working properly.
- Notify your local fire department, gas and electric company, telephone service provider and insurance company and inform them that there is oxygen on the premises.
- Disposables (oxygen tubing, nasal cannulas, etc.) must be replaced regularly to avoid equipment malfunction and to minimize the risk of contracting or spreading infections
